Mouse Pest Control in Milton Keynes

House Mouse - Mus Domesticus

The sound of scratching in the loft may be the first sign of a mouse; you may find dark coloured droppings about the size of a grain of rice on work surfaces or in cupboards. A mouse may produce about 60 droppings a day. A house mouse is about 7-9 cm long (excluding tail) and vary in colour from light brown to dark grey. Sexually mature at 8-10 weeks they can produce a litter of 5-6 young every 28 days. Six mice can multiply to sixty in 90 days. Mice can cause indiscriminate damage by their constant gnawing, ruin food and spread disease including salmonella and cryptosporidium. Predominantly nocturnal and very inquisitive they will feed from various food sources. The most common form of control is with edible bait with a rodenticide which kills humanly and efficiently. Traps including break back, glue boards and live traps can also be used with various degrees of success.
